NASCAR officials have indefinitely suspended, Chris Moore, a gas man for AJ Allmendinger in the Sprint Cup Series, for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy.
On June 22, Moore was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 19 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2010 NASCAR Rule Book.
Richard Petty Motorsports has reportedly released Chris Moore from the team.
Last week former Nationwide driver, Randy LaJoie was similarly suspended for testing positive in a random drug test. LaJoie was a broadcaster and intended to become a spotter for Joe Gibbs Racing.
Randy LaJoie apologized to his family and NASCAR for his actions.
The biggest random drug test case involves driver Jeremy Mayfield who had taken legal action in an attempt to overturn the test, but, Jeremy Mayfield’s case was dismissed.
