NASCAR had to cancel the Food City 500 qualifying session for the Sprint Cup Food City 500 race to be held Sunday at the Bristol Motor Speedway because of rain.

Consequently, drivers will have to line up according to Owner Points. As Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48) will be on front row with teammate Jeff Gordon (Chevy No 24), three drivers whose cars were out of the top 35 Owner Points at the end of 2007 (and other factors) were not able to qualify. That included Jeff Green (Ford No 21), John Andretti (Chevy No 34) and Canadian Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10).
