In a very unusual way, the Nationwide race held Saturday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway looked more like a demolition derby than a professional NASCAR race. There were 12 yellow-flag situations in the Sam's Town 300, on less than the record.

Nonetheless, Roush-Fenway driver Greg Biffle (Ford No 16) won the Sam's Town 300 even though he ran out of fuel on lap 147 and had a speeding on pit road penalty early in the race.

Winning his first race since 76 events ago, Biffle drove an incredible race edging his teammate Carl Edwards (Ford No 60) by .391 seconds at the checkered flag.

Actually, the race ended, as you might imagine, with a green-white-checkered right after Denny Hamlin's crash (Camry No 20) on lap 197. He collected Mike Bliss (Chevy No 1) in the process.

As far as Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) is concerned, his race ended early  when he crashed on lap 21.

The positive side of this race is that four rookies finished among the top ten, Michael McDowell (Camry No 47) was 6th, Brendan Gaughan (Chevy No 62) was 7th, Justin Allgaier (Dodge No 12) was 8th and Scott Lagasse Jr. (Camry No 11) was ninth.

Veteran Morgan Shepherd (Chevy No 89) finished 13th while Canadian D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 81) crashed on lap 89 placing him 33rd.
