The new Volvo wagon is also expected to meet California's strict Ultra Low Emission Vehicle and European 2005 exhaust emission standards, Futers says.
Initially, the new model will appear only with turbocharged power, with the top-of-the-line version using a 5-cylinder, high-pressure turbo based on the current T5 powertrain.
"Enhancements to the engine allow it to provide both exciting performance and improved fuel economy," Futers claims. So, the current horsepower promise is 250 and the fuel economy projection is between 9 and 9.5 litres to go 100 combined city and highway kilometres.
