We've seen pictures of the all-new, seventh-generation Golf; today, it's a GTI concept that made its debut at the Paris Auto Show.
According to Volkswagen, a 217-horsepower, 2.0L turbocharged engine allows the car to reach 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds (these numbers have yet to be confirmed). For the first time ever, the GTI will be available with a factory-installed performance package that increases output to 227 horsepower. Fuel economy is 47.1 Imperial mpg, or about 6.0L/100km.
The new Volkswagen GTI will go on sale across Europe in early 2013. The automaker will announce North American availability at a later date.
