Scion presents the Hako Coupe Concept at the New York Auto Show
A cross between an xB and a vintage American hot rod, the Hako polarized spectators with its peculiar shape and atomic orange paint.
The car sports a square grille, a square roof and bulging wheel arches. It also has a greenhouse that wraps around the rear end. According to Scion's vice president, Jack Hollis, "Scion's Hako Coupe Concept embodies a distinct global perspective on today's youth."
On the outside, the Hako also features 18-inch wheels, LED taillights, front and rear fog lights. Inside, orange and metallic accents highlight the cabin. The urethane and rubber-covered seats are easy to clean, while a center console can house magazines or other small objects. The instrument panel and steering wheel feature video-game graphics and the shifter mimics a game joystick. The entertainment system benefits from two monitors and music can be transferred into the system using Bluetooth connectivity.
