A brand new hybrid electric truck was recently unveiled by Nikola Motor, which seems to be Tesla inspires Nikola Motor’s hybrid electric trucks following a similar path to Tesla.
Offering a total range of 1,287-1930 kilometres, this truck features six in-wheel motors producing a combined 2,000 horsepower. It can be refilled with compressed natural gas (CNG) at stations on both sides of the Canadian-U.S. border.
Top speed is rated at about 105 km/h, and unlike conventional trucks, this one has a regenerative braking system. Nikola Motor also says its hybrid electric truck is much safer since it offers panoramic visibility and can stop over a distance of less than 45 metres even when loaded.
Production will begin in 24-36 months.
