4:15 PM - Nissan displayed their Azeal concept to the public, a youth-oriented sports coupe about the size of a Sentra and seeks buyers in the 20-25 year-old range. The Azeal features all the currently trendy gadgetry, like an integrated cell phone and an MP3 player. It also sports an integrated retractable rear spoiler. It's also the first Nissan to come out of their new Farmington Hills, Michigan design centre.
Nissan also cited that 2004 was a record year for their truck sales, 24% more than the year before.
The new 2005 Xterra was on display, as was the new Frontier and Pathfinder models, which are all based on Nissan's F-Alpha platform, a shortened version of the one that underpins the Titan and Armada trucks.
The brand also announced a new upcoming compact car, which will probably replace the aging Sentra. In addition, a new version of the Titan will be coming in 2006, but no extra details were given.
