Former Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve let us know that the FIA has just decided to not allow his structure to become the 13th team on the F1 grid next season.
“We did not get the 13th spot on the F1 grid,” told us Villeneuve about his Villeneuve Racing-Durango structure.
“However, I don’t know for the moment if the FIA has granted the 13th spot to another organization, or if it has decided to scrap the project of a 13th team altogether,” Villeneuve added in a rush.
During the moments that followed his call, the FIA confirmed "that there will be no 13th team in 2011 and 2012 as none of the candidates met the requirements to be granted an entry into the Formula 1 World Championship."
