Petter Solberg (Ford Fiesta) set the fastest time in the qualifying super special for Rally Mexico, alloweing the Norwegian driver to let his rivals clean the road for him during the first day.
Solberg was the quickest of the fourteen drivers involved in the qualifying session. He beat Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen in the Citroen DS3s, and his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Fiesta).
Due to this performance, Petter Solberg has the privilege to choose his starting order for Friday and, quite logically, will elect to start from 14th and last position of the qualifying group.
This will provide him with a significant advantage on the dusty roads of Mexico. In fact, the starting order for Friday is the reverse order of the qualification results.
