Renault billboard interacts with drivers in the U.K.

When it comes to advertising, automakers can be pretty clever and original. Renault’s marketing team in the U.K. has come up with a giant billboard that can recognize vehicles and display personalized ads to drivers. The goal is to promote the Renault Megane 4.

Developed by Ocean Outdoor, this interactive panel first detects an incoming car’s model and colour and then talks directly to its driver.

In the picture above, the owner of a Vauxhall Astra reads: “Hello, you in the silver hatchback… I spy something stylish beginning with Mmmm…”

Ocean Outdoor insists no personal information is collected by the camera or stored in a computer.
