Fiat Yamaha driver Valentino Rossi was back where he was yesterday at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, on top of the time sheet.

The Italian was still working with Bridgestone to evaluate qualifying compounds and it seems that development is in the right direction.

On his side, Repsol Honda rider Nicky Hayden continued to work overtime as he was the one to complete the most laps, finishing the day with the second quickest time.

As it was the case yesterday, Gresini Honda rider Shinya Nakano was third fastest, ahead of Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo. Last but not least, Alex de Angelis rounded up the Top 5.

Today's times:

Pos Rider Team Time Laps
1. Rossi Fiat Yamaha 2:00.472 70
2. Hayden Repsol Honda 2:00.900 90
3. Nakano Honda Gresini 2:02.049 59
4. Lorenzo Fiat Yamaha 2:02.396 55
5. De Angelis Honda Gresini 2:02.646 57
