Scion Targets Canada's Emerging Y-Generation
The tC is Scion’s sportiest iteration. It’s a coupe hatchback that looks sensational and performs admirably. As with all Scion products, this vehicle is richly equipped with features that would cost extra in many of its competitors. The tC is priced at $20,850.

Next up is the xD, which is a compact 5-door hatch that provides plenty of versatility and spirit for only $17,200. And the final tool in the Scion hardware box is the crossover-like xB. This squared-off tall 4-door wagon is the iconic and most recognizable unit in the Scion fleet; it’s tagged at $20,815.

These three vehicles are mono-spec’d automobiles, meaning that they basically come one way—and that’s fully equipped. The only choices in the manufacturing stage are colour and transmission—automatic or manual.

Now here’s the unique aspect to the Scion lineup that has been developed specifically to attract its target market. These cars are infinitely customize’able through the dealership with true Toyota TRD accessories. These accoutrements include components to modify suspensions, wheels, brakes, exhaust, audio and more—you name it, and it can likely be done. All at extra charge mind you.

Whether owners choose to customize their Scion or delight in its purest version, they will certainly be exposed to a unique form of marketing and an equally unique lineup of automobiles. I’ve driven the three Scions mentioned and enjoyed their spirited performance and upscale driving dynamics.

I’ll provide my “first impressions” of these vehicles in separate upcoming reviews.
