The new Fabia, with one of the most expansive interiors in its class, should continue the trend and add on the already 1.5 million Fabias sold since 2000. The extra 22m in length and 47 mm in height also make it one of the largest in the category. Although its trunk size is also something to write home about, the number of available engines is what impresses the most. Of the 7 powerplants to choose from, 4 run on petrol and the other 3, on diesel. A few of the engines have seen their output grow and for the first time, a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission will be offered as an option. Safety features like side air bags become standard and new items such as electronically controlled Climatronic A/C and an MP3/iPod compatible stereo become options.
