Vitaphone Maserati driver Alex Muller has qualified on pole position for this weekend's Spa 24 Hours. Canadian Jacques Villeneuve and the Gravity team set the second fastest time in the G2 category.
Muller, in the No. 2 GT1 Maserati set a time of 2:18.030 in the early stages of the first of three qualifying sessions this evening. In typical fashion, a rainstorm then hit the Belgian circuit, preventing any improvements for the rest of the night.
Former single-seater driver Gianmaria Bruni put the No. 50 AF Corse Ferrari on the GT2 pole with a time of 2:25.232.
Thomas Mutsch was quickest in the G3 class for GT3 cars with the leading Matech Ford GT entry.
Former DTM racer Marcel Fässler dominated the G2 class with the Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS beating the Gravity team’s Mosley MT900 of Villeneuve/Radermeker/Ho-Pin/De Sordi by 3.3 seconds.
