Canadian race car driver Jacques Villeneuve will not compete in the final round of the Speedcar Series this weekend in Bahrein, site of the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Auto123.com has learned from a well informed insider that Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 Formula 1 World Champion, will not be driving the No 96 car prepared by Italian team Durango.
Back in February, Villeneuve already missed the Dubai race because of food poisoning.
His season in the Speedcar Series is now over.
Jacques Villeneuve is currently on a business trip in Europe and was unavailable for comments.
