The Atlantic Series season is fast approaching and 10 teams representing 20 cars have confirmed that they will be on hand to participate in the next Spring Training to be held at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit, California on March 10-11.

All of the teams and drivers in attendance will undoubtedly be gunning for Forsythe Racing Inc. teammates, Canadian James Hinchcliffe and Mexican David Garza, who claimed the top-two positions on the time sheets in testing at Sebring International Raceway last month.

Also posting top-five speeds during the Sebring test was Finnish rookie Markus Niemela with Brooks Associates Racing. Niemela will return to the cockpit.

Two teams will bring three cars each to Laguna Seca. Condor Motorsports will bring three cars led by second-year competitor Junior Strous and his countryman, Dominick Muermans and Brazilian rookie Douglas Soares will join him.

Walker Racing will also field three cars. Quebec driver Kevin Lacroix will be back with the Mansell brothers, Leo and Greg.

Since the merger between both Champ Car and IRL Series, it has been announced that there will be a 10-round calendar for the Atlantic Series.

Dates and names of the venues should be announced in the coming weeks, but it is most likely that some of the races could be held along with American Le Mans Series races.
