ARCA drivers practiced some five hours on Thursday at the Daytona International Speedway. Rookie driver Ricky Stenhaus (Roush-Fenway Ford No 99) was the fastest at a speed of 184.027 mph.
Indy 500 champ Dario Franchitti (Dodge No 40) was fourth at 183.688 mph while Ryan Fischer from B.C. (No 25 Chevy) was 10th at 181.404 mph.
Ottawa's Pierre Bourque (No 93 Dodge) ran at 179.608 mph, good for the 27th spot and Terry Jones (No 30 Dodge) also from Ontario was 23rd at 179.975.
Quebec driver Andrew Ranger (No 98 Chevy), the reigning NASCAR Canadian Tire series champion, was 30th among 65 drivers at a speed of 179.306 mph while his owner Quebec-born Florida resident and ARCA veteran Mario Gosselin (No 21 Chevy) ran the 41st fastest speed at 178.213 mph.
