Stock Car: Marcos Gomes takes Million BMC pole in Brazil

Marcos Gomes repeated last year's tour de force by winning the Superpole Pioneer Rush Million BMC pole position at the Interlagos track, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Full Medley driver, who got his 4 wins and 3 poles at this track, recorded a lap of 1:42.498 around Interlagos, 0.368 second ahead of rival Daniel Serra, from Red Bull Racing, and 0.533 ahead of Vogel Motorsport driver Allam Khodair.

Duda Pampelune, Caca Bueno, Popo Bueno, Thiago Camilo, Luciano Burti, Diego Nunes and Valdeni Brito rounded up the top-10.

Nunes had been the fastest driver in the final practice ahead of qualifying with Gomes trailing him by few in second position.

Canadian driver and former Formula 1 champion Jacques Villeneuve qualified in 27th position on board of the No. 27 car.

Thirty-three cars participated to the qualifying effort.
