Subaru Canada Inc. has updated and upgraded its Forester sport-cute for the 2001 model year, and its prices will reflect that change.
So when it arrives in April, Forester will have a new exterior shape as well as more luxury and safety features and will start at $26,895 for the entry level Forester L. From there it will range upward to $35,995 for a fully equipped Forester S Limited.
Consumers will welcome this model, says Joe Anwyll, vice-president of sales and marketing for Subaru Canada, because they realize that "this vehicle is the best of both worlds. Forester is as tough and hard-working as an SUV, with the ride and handling of a car, and offers an outstanding level of safety and occupant protection. New customers are going to love it even more for the extra luxury and convenience features we've added for 2001."
Reflecting what Anwyll says is Forester's appeal as a distinct cut above other sport-cutes, the new Forester gets a "more sophisticated appearance." Specifically, "a new chrome grille features a body-color frame, and new multi-reflector headlights blend more smoothly into the design."
The front bumper is also new, and features textured gray finish on the Forester L model. On the more expensive Forester S, the bumper finish matches the new Titanium Pearl lower side cladding and larger, body-color foldable sideview mirrors.
In the rear, there are new taillights with multi-reflector, clear-lens backup and directional lights.
