Subaru has finally confirmed it’ll be taking on the highly profitable and competitive crossover segment for 2013 with the XV.
Michael McHale, Subaru’s director of corporate communications for North America, has stated that the vehicle will be launched next year as a 2013 model year and be dubbed XV.
There are several rumours going around that it’ll be called Impreza Sport, but Subaru hasn’t confirmed anything.
A 2.0-litre, 150-hp 4-pot will likely be the only available power option, teaming up with a CVT or 5-speed manual transmission.
The crossover will also feature a start/stop system that’ll help keep fuel consumption down to a minimum.
