The AMA Superbike Championship will be back at the Barber Motorsports Park on April 18-20, in Alabama for the second stop on the 2008 calendar.

Barber Motorsports Park is the first traditional road course and the top teams took advantage of a six-week layoff following the Daytona opener for extensive testing and development at the Barber circuit, a 2.38-mile course.

Factory Suzuki team won the last six races in Alabama, the last non-Suzuki winner being Miguel Duhamel in 2004.

Six-time AMA Superbike champion Mat Mladin is of course the favourite, having won numerous times at Barber, the Australian swept both races the last time the series traveled to Barber Motorsports Park.

Yamaha USA's Jason DiSalvo will have to be taking into account next weekend as well as Honda's Miguel Duhamel who was a double podium finisher last year in Alabama.
