This view of the Tarmac Spyder Concept shows off its wedge shape and high rear decklid. This open top four-seater might just point to a future Mitsubishi product.

What about the Tarmac Spyder Concept? Well, just like its name infers, the sleek open-top 4-seater is a concept, so anything goes. The automaker dubs the new prototype a "study in vehicle evolution." Based on the CZ-3 sports hatchback that first appeared at the '01 Tokyo Motor Show, the Tarmac Spyder promises an exciting look into the future of this trend setting youth oriented company.

While concepts such as the Tarmac Spyder are often provocative and seldom functional, the previously mentioned Endeavor crossover/SUV is very real, and set for 2003 production. It will be the first new vehicle to reach market as part of Mitsubishi's $1.4 billion (USD) Project America program, and will be assembled at the company's Normal, IL plant. And yes Canada, I'm sure Mitsubishi really meant Project North America.
