The Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Continental Tire (CTCC) will stage a race during the prestigious weekend of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge, August 19th and 20th 2011 on Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal.
Since 2007, the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge is one of the premier sporting events in Canada and features a round of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the only major NASCAR race outside the USA.
For the Canadian Touring Car series, this will be the highlight of 2011 as the race will be held in front of several thousands of spectators.
The series is opened to eligible showroom stock cars where mechanical preparation is limited. The cars are split into two categories, and the series stages races at Mosport, ICAR in Mirabel, the Toronto and Trois-Rivières street courses and the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.
The field features cars such as the Honda Civic Si, Subaru Impreza STI, BMW 328, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Acura CSX, Mazda 3 and Acura Type R.
Fans will be able to experience the rush of CTCC on Thursday August 18 with practice and qualifying sessions followed by a race on Friday August 19.
