Mississauga, ON - Lace up those running shoes and get ready to head to the Docks Waterfront Entertainment Complex in downtown Toronto. The Canada Running Series is hosting the annual Nissan Canada Foundation 5k this Friday July 14 at 7:00pm.
Whether running the 5k or enjoying the more leisurely pace of the 2k walk, this event is sure to put a smile on your face and get your heart pumping. Participants will also know they are supporting a good cause.
"Running in this race is a win-win. I'm helping a great cause and I'm helping myself too," says Donna Trawinski, past runner and Corporate Manager, Product and Corporate Communication, Nissan Canada Inc.
This event, presented by the Nissan Canada Foundation, will raise money for Give Girls a Chance which is a fundraising initiative that aims to educate young girls and women who face obstacles when it comes to getting a proper education.
Participants will be running alongside thousands of others who are out to be a part of the fun. "It's not only completing the race myself, but seeing others cross the finish line that makes me enjoy participating," says Barbara Bonifacio, Fitness and Events Coordinator at Nissan Canada Inc. "There is a great team spirit."
The thousands who participate will be following a Nissan X-Trail which will serve as the pace vehicle for all runners. The Nissan Canada Foundation is also the Official Vehicle Supplier for the entire Canada Running Series for the second year in a row.
