The latest track car from Lotus is the Exos Type 125, an F1-lookalike single seater with a price tag of a cool CDN $1.2 millions.

The Type 125 looks like a Formula 1 machine, but the project is said to have very little to do with the new F1 team, Lotus Racing.

In fact, the track-ready Type 125 is, for all intents and purposes, a copy of the currebnt Lotus T127 F1 car, but for having a slightly longer cockpit to handle most drivers.

There will be just 25 units of Exos built in total. It is powered by 3.5-litre Cosworth V8 engine revving to 10,800 rpm and delivering 645-bhp. It’s expected to keep running with only the most minimal maintenance, for a full 3,000 kilometers of fun without an overhaul.

The gearbox is F1-style, electronically-shifted manual with paddle shifters on an equally track-ready instrumented steering wheel.

Purchasing a Type 125 will get you a membership of the “Exos Club”, which will run five track events around Europe next year, with the support of racing instructors, mechanics, and even fitness instructors.

First deliveries of Lotus Exos Type 125 are expected in spring 2011.
