It is now the turn of the Nationwide (ex-Busch) drivers to test at Daytona for the first race of the season.
There were no Canadians during Thursday morning's session as veteran Johnny Sauter turned the fastest speed of the morning session with his 1A Chevy at 179.076 mph.
Last year's champ, Carl Edwards (Ford No 60B) ran the 13th best time at 177.522.
But in the afternoon session, it was Kyle Busch again (as he did in the Sprint session) to run the fastest with his No 18B Toyota Camry at a very fast speed of 182.556 mph.
Edwards ran at 178.130 mph, good for the 22nd spot.
