Quebec driver Rémy Audette won this weekend’s two F2000 Championship Series rounds at Watkins Glen in the state of New York.

At the wheel of his Dimensions Doors / Novatech Van Diemen, Audette increases his lead at the top of the overall standings, after six series rounds so far this season.

Rémy Audette’s progression was consistent throughout the weekend. Fifth in the first practice sessions and second in the second session before setting the fastest time in the last session prior to qualifying, where he finished second.

As part of the first line of starters, he managed to pass the pole setter (Chris Lievengood) but his main rival for the championship title (Kyle Connery) later managed to jump from second to first to take the lead.

An intense battle ensued between Audette and the American driver, during which Rémy again took the lead mid-race and claimed the victory by a margin of 1.7 seconds.

Sunday’s race was just as successful for Rémy. Starting in second place during this past weekend’s second round, he conceded one spot at the start before climbing back and taking the lead of the pack during a re-start.

These victories allow Rémy Audette to increase his lead in the championship, which he has led since the first weekend of competition in April. The next event in the F2000 Championship Series will take place at the Mid-Ohio track on July 1st and 2nd.
