The all-new Volkswagen Arteon today made its world debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show as a sophisticated 5-door coupe that will slot above the Passat and replace the outgoing CC when it goes on sale in Canada next year as a 2019 model.
This fastback-type grand touring model stands out with a completely new front end where the LED headlights and daytime running lights merge with the front grille. In fact, one of the key goals of Volkswagen designers was to combine avant-garde exterior styling with a sumptuous and versatile interior. Passengers will find an “exceptionally generous” amount of room for their head and feet, even in the back seat, while access to the cargo area is made easier by a large hatch instead of a simple trunk lid.
The latest generation of driver assistance systems are also available with the Volkswagen Arteon, as well as a choice of three 4-cylinder engines: a 148hp 1.5L turbo mated to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, a 188hp 2.0L unit paired with DCT, and a 276hp 2.0L variant with AWD.
