You like hitting the open road in a droptop? Retro-looking models attract you? This is your lucky day. We’re pleased to report that the new 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Classic Convertible is now on sale at Canadian dealerships, with a base price of $28,550.
Similar to the Beetle Classic introduced for 2015, modern equipment like a 170-horsepower, 1.8L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection and 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission combine with classic design cues and attributes from the original Beetle.
Interior highlights include two-tone cloth and leatherette seats, colour-matched dash and door sills, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and all-new "Discover Media" touchscreen infotainment system with integrated navigation, as well as "App-Connect" smartphone integration which unlocks the world of Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Mirror Link.
Available in four different body colours (Reflex Silver Metallic, Moonroock Silver Metallic, Pure White, and Deep Black Pearl), the exterior features 17” Heritage alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and a power operated top that can be raised and lowered in around 10 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h. It is now dyed a shade of "Sioux Brown" that perfectly contrasts the interior.
Volkswagen Canada says there’s no need to tick off any option boxes on the order sheet, as all features come standard. Sweet!
