The very first Volvo, known as the ÖV4, first rolled off the assembly line 90 years this month. The Swedish manufacturer is marking the occasion with a special ceremony taking place this Thursday during the 2017 New York International Auto Show.
Visitors will be able to see up close fully-restored Volvo 123 “Amazon” Wagon, Duett and P1800 models on display, as well as several beautiful photographs from the company’s early years. You may remember that we presented a video retrospective of the 90 years of Volvo a few weeks ago.
The New York show will also see the all-new 2018 Volvo XC60 makes its North American debut, following its world debut in Geneva last month. It’s a safe bet that consumers in the Big Apple and elsewhere on this continent will appreciate the little sibling of the XC90, not just because of its attractive blend of Scandinavian designs and modern technologies, but also because consumers will be able to choose between three different high-performance turbo-charged engines: the 250-hp T5, the 361-hp T6 and the T8 hybrid that can produce 400 hp.
Volvo will also be showcasing in New York its 2018 S90, which has received several updates.
