Volvo will finally be introducing its V60 diesel plug-in hybrid wagon, an absolutely remarkable piece of automotive machinery.
With its two engines, a 2.4-litre, diesel four-cylinder and an electric mill, it generates 281 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque, propelling it from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. And it sips just 1.9 L/100 km.
But wait, there’s more: the Volvo V60 Hybrid has an operating range of 1,198 km!
As North Americans have pooh-poohed wagons in favour of SUVs and crossovers and the station wagon market has basically atrophied in this part of the world, the V60 won’t be gracing our shores. Such a pity.
