Derrick Walker has announced that he was closing down his team, for at least this year, and he went on to add that the future of his Atlantic operations is also uncertain as well as the future of the Atlantic series itself.

Speaking from Laguna Seca, California. where his Atlantic team is presently testing, Walker even met Nigel Mansell to discuss the future of his two sons, Greg and Leo.

"It remains to be seen whether Nigel's sons will continue with us because there's a lot of uncertainty about the Atlantic series. We're hoping to get some answers and my goal would be to run four Atlantic cars to keep as many people going as possible.

As for Walker Racing's future? "My goal would be to come back to Indy cars in 2009. But right now I'm just trying to keep the lights on."
