Maybach benefits greatly from the technological superiority of its sister brand Mercedes-Benz, says JoAnne Caza of Mercedes-Benz Canada.
It was from Mercedes-Benz that innovations such as the electronically controlled AIRMATIC DC (dual control) air suspension and the electro-hydraulic Sensotronic Brake Control were first derived and then redeveloped for use in the Maybach.
The luxury sedan's new 12-cylinder engine develops a maximum output of 550 hp, with torque peaking at about 664 lb-ft. Caza notes that these power and torque figures are unmatched by any other series-production passenger car engine in the world.
