It's going to be a busy few weeks for Mitsubishi with product debuts at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.

The automaker's Lancer Sportback model made its world debut this week, featuring a 5-door hatchback configuration, two-litre turbo engine, twin-clutch gearbox and all wheel drive.

Lancer Sportback was joined by the revised Mitsubishi Colt, a compact European model that's built in the Netherlands. The latest version of the successful model features the new company grille treatment, a restyled backside and a new turbo trim level. There's even a new Colt Ralliart, available in 3 or 5 door versions.

A new Racing Lancer Turbodiesel competition car took the stand too, allowing showgoers to see the machine in person before it competes in the next Dakar Rally. The Racing Lancer is powered by a 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine with a dual-stage turbocharger that sends 280 horsepower to the road through a permanent AWD system with self-locking centre differential.

The iMiEV electric vehicle was on hand as well. Mitsubishi officials say that the vehicle is currently being proven and tested in Japan, and that further exploration is being considered for New Zealand, Iceland and the USA.

The 2008 Paris Motor Show runs October 4 to 19.
