Max Biaggi (Aprilia) took his third and fourth wins of the 2010 WSBK season with two well-judged front running rides at Monza, while Troy Corser made a historic first podium for BMW in the second year of competition for the German manufacturer’s S1000RR.

In the first race, Biaggi was able to manage his pace and keep the lead throughout, re passing challengers at will, and never pulling out a lead of more than a second over his closest rivals. Try as they might, Yamaha team-mates James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow, along with Suzuki’s Leon Haslam were never able to make a pass stick, ending up less than a second from the Roman Emperor and his dominant Aprilia at the finish.

In the second race, the Italian took off again, ahead of a first corner crash that eliminated race 1 tormentors James Toseland and Jonathan Rae, as well as the on-form Ruben Xaus (BMW) and Ducati quick man Michel Fabrizio.

Biaggi proceeded to run out the race without having to push hard, keeping well clear of the rest, especially after Crutchlow blew an engine mid way through the race, and thus moving Troy Corser (BMW) up to a third place finish.
