Nasser Al-Attiyah will drive a works Citroën DS3 alongside Sébastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen in the next WRC season.
Al-Attiyah, who ran the S2000 world championship this season aboard a Ford Fiesta, will drive a car with the same specifications than his team mates. His entry is backed by an investment fund of Qatar, which provides a substantial budget.
Moreover, thanks to large budget from Qatar, Citroen could remain in rally after the departure of Sébastien Loeb in 2013 or 2014. The French team could even line up again in the future a "Junior" team as it did in 2010 with Sebastien Ogier and Kimi Raikkonen to form a successor to Loeb. The young Belgian Thierry Neuville, who had a successful season in the Intercontinental Rally Championship with a Peugeot 207 S2000, could make his WRC debuts in 2013.
