Following confirmation that replacement driver Dani Sordo would not remain with Ford's M-Sport team for the rest of the season, it appeared Jari-Matti Latvala made a further step towards his comeback.

The Finn, who broke his collarbone on April 11, is scheduled to join his teammate Petter Solberg and the rest of his team for a test in Sardinia, behind the wheel of the Fiesta RS WRC car, as they prepare for round six of the WRC, the Acropolis Rally.

Latvala told Autosport that he was "90% recovered" and "confident [that he would drive] in Greece."

His boss Malcolm Wilson added that his seat had been fitted with padding, to nurse to sensitive bone, and that 27-year-old had not felt any pain since two days after the accident.
