Austin Mini and Prodrive may officialize a WRC entry for next season, according to british magazine Autosport.

A Mini WRC car is in process in the Prodrive factory, in England. The first shakedown of the car, which will be powered by a BMW engine 1.6 liter turbocharged, could begin soon.

Mads Otsberg is being tipped for those development runs. The norvegian driver could join the Mini factory team next season.

The Mini WRC is supposed to make his debuts in may 2011, during Rally Sardegna.
