The Mini World Rally Team has withdrawn its participation to this weekend’s Rally Estonia after it became obvious the car would not be ready to race after an incident in testing this week with driver Kris Meeke.
Although the damaged left-hand side of the car was fixed in the same day of the accident, the technical director of Prodrive, David Lapworth, says the car is “not really pretty enough [to be sent] to the start of an event.”
Drivers Meeke and Dani Sordo ran a total of 450 miles of testing in three days this week. They will be back for Rally Finland.
