Auto123.com announced yesterday that Kris Meeke would be limited to only few outings in the WRC MINI program. His replacement at Prodrive for the Monte Carlo rally will be Pierre Campana.
"I'm simply honoured and excited that MINI chose me to join their team for Rallye Monte Carlo," Campana told Autohebdo.fr.
Even though Frenchman Campana has driven in Monte Carlo rallies before, and has experience at the wheel of the MINI, it will be his first time driving it in Monte Carlo.
"I really like this event [which he won last year, driving the two-wheel drive IRC class in a Renault Clio R3], that's why I'm delighted to get a chance to showcase my experience there. I had a blast last season in the Drive-Pro-prepared [Prodrive's french equivalent] MINI John Cooper Works WRC, and I can't wait to get back in the driver's seat of such a fantastic car, on the great roads of Monte Carlo."
