Sébastien Ogier (Citroen DS3) wins rallye de France Alsace. Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Fiesta) takes third and ties Sébastien Loeb for the lead in the championship's standings.

After Loeb’s retirement on Friday morning, Sébastien Ogier (Citroen DS3), Dani Sordo (Mini Cooper) and Petter Solberg (Citroen DS3) were fighting for the lead on Friday, with Sordo taking the lead after the first day. Solberg suffered a puncture on Saturday morning, and lost ground behind his rivals. After a great fight, Ogier was able to move up to first position on Saturday evening in front of Sordo. On Sunday, the Frenchman was able to resist to Sordo’s pressure, to take another win this year.

It was a new disappointment for Solberg, who was disqualified after the race when his car was found illegal (four kilos lighter than minimum weight) by the stewards. That put Mikko Hirvonen up to third place : the Finn is now in first position in championship classification, tied with Sébastien Loeb, while Ogier stands three points behind.

It’s going to be a thrilling end of the season in WRC, with two rallies remaining : Spain (tarmac) and Great-Britain (gravel).
