Alex Tagliani, driver of the No. 8 Johnson Controls Lola, heads to Mexico for Round Two of the Champ Car World Series, looking to add yet another top finish to his Monterrey record. Tagliani, who is currently eighth in the championship standings with 15 points, started and finished third in the 2003 Tecate/Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix, and is confident of Rocketsports' continued success at the classy Latin venue.

"Last year in Monterrey Rocketsports had a fast car and great results," said Tagliani. It was the first time the team showed its true strength with our first podium," said Tagliani. "It was a great boost to the team and we've never looked back. Rocketsports has come a long way, and I'm confident our success here will continue this year.

"The Monterrey track is a good challenge and the new qualifying procedure put in place for this weekend will make it a real test of endurance for some drivers, depending on which group they're in. With three qualifying periods in a session and a shuffle in the groups, it will demand concentration and some clever strategy," added Tagliani. "It will make for an interesting two days before the main event!"

Tagliani enjoys the energy and enthusiasm of the Mexican fans and appreciates their support of the Champ Car World Series. "It's a pleasure to return to Monterrey, where fans celebrate great racing. This year will be especially rewarding for the people of Monterrey who remained loyal, not only to their National racing heroes, but to all the drivers and the Champ Car World Series."

With five career poles and eight podium finishes, Tagliani will make his 79th career start in Monterrey. Catch Tagliani in the Tecate/Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix on SPIKE TV at 4:00 PM ET.
