RuSPORT source: rusport.com After a very eventful race in Zolder, Belgium, Justin Wilson and his #9/CDW team took a couple of days to unwind in Europe to prepare for this weekend's race at the TT Circuit Assen. Departing Zolder Monday morning, the team drove to Spa-Francorchamps to visit the track that Justin lists as his all-time-favorite track to drive in a race car. After a relaxing lunch in the Belgian countryside, the caravan headed south to Germany's famed Nurburgring to drive a few laps of the Nordschleife. Justin gave rides to his teammates and was also brave enough to turn the wheel over to his Race Engineer, Mike Talbott. Justin offered coaching from the passenger seat, helping Talbott to navigate the 14 kilometer track about 95 seconds slower than Wilson. On Wednesday, Justin spent most of the day in Amsterdam at the offices of Plantronics Europe. Justin signed autographs and answered questions for all the Plantronics employees that also happen to be huge race fans. "I've been looking forward to this weekend for quite some time!" exclaimed Justin. "The Dutch race fans are fantastic! They're completely mad for motorsports and I know that they are really going to enjoy the exciting racing that Champ Cars has to offer." The 2.83 mile, TT Circuit Assen is famous for motorcycle racing and has seen very few four wheel vehicles navigate its 15 turns and long straights. "It looks like an incredibly fast circuit. Every team is coming to this track for the first time, so our goal is to have a very productive Friday morning practice session, find a base set-up quickly and fine tune the car from there." Justin is currently fourth in the Vanderbilt Cup Championship standings, ten points behind Will Power and 19 points away from second place holder, Robert Doornbos. Friday morning practice begins at 10:05am with the provisional qualifying at 2:00pm.
