"We are not in negotiations with Formula One," Adam Saal source: pitpass.com As the motorsport media works itself into a frenzy over the issue of Bernie Ecclestone buying into CART, a spokesperson for the American race series was quick to dismiss the speculation. "We are not in negotiations with Formula One," says CART Communications Vice-President Adam Saal. "A lot of this is built on what has been an excellent rapport between (CART boss) Chris Pook and Bernie Ecclestone," he added. However Saal was reacting to reports that CART and F1(tm) could merge which is something that pitpass has never suggested and would seem impossible anyway. From the very outset we have been saying that Ecclestone wishes to buy into, and therefore control, CART in much the same way as he controls F1(tm).
