Chris Pook was in an expansive mood at the EuroSpeedway last weekend source: cart.com The German 500 could not have been any better with a good, safe race, a solid if not huge crowd and a memorable appearance at the wheel of a Champ car by two-time CART champion Alex Zanardi. On race day morning Pook talked about his running visit to Europe last week and his vision for Champ Car in 2005. "I feel very good about everything, and I feel even better about the kind of reception we're getting from manufacturers who we're talking to," Pook enthused. "Don't ask me to reveal who we're talking to, but you can imagine who we're talking to!" Pook, David Clare and John Lopes fanned out across Europe last week to sell the Champ Car message to European-based manufacturers and sponsors. "We've all been working real hard," Pook said. "I left Monday night from Brands and went to Paris. I had meetings in Paris on Tuesday morning into early afternoon. In the afternoon I went to Monte Carlo. I had a dinner meeting in Monte Carlo and I had a breakfast meeting in Monte Carlo. I then flew to Milan and had a meeting in Milan, then went to Switzerland for the afternoon and the evening and had meetings there. "The following morning, Thursday morning, I went to Stuttgart, Germany and had meetings there. I went on to Hanover and had meetings there Friday morning and got here Friday afternoon."
