How about another boring business article about the current status of CART... NOT! source: champweb.net - Mike Sulka But before I digress let's visit the quick guide to CART business... a quick Q & A overview. Q: So... the deal is done... right? A: I assume you are referring to the Asset Purchase Agreement that CART agreed to? Well... no... it's not a done deal. Q: What? Didn't OWRS...You know... Jerry Forsythe, Kevin Kalkhoven, and Paul Gentilozzi... finally buy and take control of CART... after all these months? A: Well... yes and no. Q: Well... just what the heck did happen? A: How about the simple version? OWRS has offered to buy the stuff... mostly contracts for TV, tracks, Cosworth(engines) and Bridgestone(tires). It's the equipment and agreements they need to run the Champ Car World Series and the Toyota Atlantic series in 2004. They even went out and bought the blasted rulebook. CART has agreed to sell it to them. CART has now filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and a bankruptcy court/judge will decide if the deal is acceptable. And it may take weeks.... It may take months. But I'm confident that the outcome will be positive for the future of the series. I now digress...
