is taking shape

With the announcements of Cristiano da Matta at PKV Racing, and Nelson
Philippe at Mi-Jack Conquest Racing this week, 11 driver/car combinations have
been solidified.
Four hot seats remain. One at Forsythe, one at Mi-Jack Conquest, one at HVM
(Formerly Herdez), and one at Rocketsports.
Rodolfo Lavin is thought to be retaining his seat at Forsythe, though
speculation continues to circulate maybe that isn't the case.
Mi-Jack Conquest Racing tested several drivers this past weekend.
Ryan Hunter-Reay is expected to be back, but no one seems to know exactly where.
Rocketsports is one possibility that has been put forth, though Timo Glock
tested with the team over the weekend. Which may put Hunter-Reay at HVM again in
2005.
Neither Oriol Servia at Coyne racing, nor Mario Haberfeld at Walker Racing have
been confirmed for '05. But most signs point to both teams fielding two cars
which may land both drivers back with their 2004 teams. Canadian Michael
Valiante may fill the other seat at Walker.
Overall, there is sure to be a number of surprises left before the green flag
drops in Long Beach.
