2007 Grand Prix of Houston - Conquest Racing Preview source: Conquest Racing When: April 20 - 22 Where: JAGFlo Speedway at Reliant Park Television: Broadcast live on ESPN at 3:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, April 22 The Track: a 10 turn 1.658-mile temporary street course 2006 Review: Winner: Sebastien Bourdais Polesitter: Mario Dominguez (58.026 seconds) 2006 Conquest Review: Andrew Ranger started last season's Houston race in 13th and made his way up to sixth, grabbing the point for the most improved driver for a second race in a row. Charles Zwolsman had qualified 11th and was running strong until contact with Will Power took him out on Lap 70. Looking toward Houston: Halliday: "I feel Houston will give us a good opportunity to have a trouble free run and also allow us to continue our progress with the car. We will be pushing for a strong result and valuable points. I am unfamiliar with the course in Houston so I am eager to walk the track on Thursday; however, I am getting more comfortable with street courses so this being my third in a row, hopefully I will be able to grasp the course much faster." About Houston: Houston, being the 4th largest city in the United States, is home to professional athletic teams such as the Houston Astros MLB team, the Houston Rockets NBA team, the Houston Comets WNBA team and the Houston Texans NFL team. Although all of these teams attract a lot of attention to the city throughout the year, the Grand Prix brings in a more diverse community of not only American race fans but international race fans as well.
