The Grand Prix of Houston has named Robert Dale Morgan to the position of Executive Director andChuck Kosich to the position of General Manager, announced Michael T. Lanigan, Chief Executive Officer of Mi-Jack Promotions, who will also serve as CEO of the Grand Prix of Houston source: paddocktalk.com "We are delighted to announce one of the most dynamic leadership teams on the Champ Car series," said Lanigan, co-owner of the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Team and an individual who has been involved in open-wheel racing for more than a decade. "With the day-to-day management of the Grand Prix of Houston in the hands of Robert Dale and Chuck, I am confident that we will present an event that everyone will be proud of." Champ Car announced on August 13 its 2006 Bridgestone Presents Champ Car World Series powered by Ford schedule which included the Grand Prix of Houston - the only event added to Champ Car's current series. The Grand Prix of Houston, which will be held at Reliant Park May 11-13, will be Champ Car's first night race on a street course in its history. Morgan, a 22-year veteran of sports marketing and event management, arrived in Houston in June 2002 and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the 2004 Houston Super Bowl XXXVIII Host Committee. During his career, Morgan has served as Executive Director of the Peach Bowl and the Atlanta Sports Council, Vice President of Sports for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, President of the 2000 Metro Atlanta Super Bowl XXXIV Host Committee and Vice President of Championship Management for the PGA TOUR. "This opportunity allows me to apply my skill set to an international event in one of the world's great cities," Morgan says. "This event will be modeled after the most successful sports and entertainment events in the world.
